University of Massachussetts Amherst campus chaplain Kent Higgins offered two college credits to any student willing to campaign in New Hampshire this fall for Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama.

Kent Higgins sent students an email on Sept. 18 stating, "If you're scared about the prospects for this election, you're not alone. The most important way to make a difference in the outcome is to activate yourself. It would be just fine with (Republican candidate John) McCain if Obama supporters just think about helping, then sleep in and stay home between now and Election Day."

Higgins added that an unidentified "sponsor" in the University of Massachussetts Amherst history department would offer a two-credit independent study for students willing to canvass, identify supporters, or volunteer on behalf of the Democratic nominee.

Higgins later claimed the offer was open to McCain supporters, although he didn't extend the credits invitation to anyone other than Barack Obama supporters, and his email is pretty self-explanatory as to his ideology.

There is nothing like a dishonest and deceitful preacher who is also a liberal Democrat that holds a teaching position in a major university to foster higher institution learning. UMass sucks, and Chaplain Kent Higgins sucks.
