Tom Cruise, Hollywood actor and Scientologist, sucks. Besides being egotistical and supposedly possessing god-like powers, Tom Cruise appears to be somewhat mentally unstable. Tom Cruise is a Scientologist, so let's explore just exactly what that means. We all know that Scientology is a religion based upon the writings of a science fiction writer named L. Ron Hubbard. L. Ron Hubbard also wrote a book in the 1950's called Dianetics, which is a crucial component of the Church of Scientology's teachings. L. Ron Hubbard wrote that mental and psychosomatic physical problems are caused by traumatic recordings called engrams that are stored in the reactive mind. The goal of Dianetics is to erase the engrams in the reactive mind to achieve the state of Clear. Once this state of "Clear" is achieved, according to Hubbard, an individual is able to function at his or her full potential. The ultimate goal is for one to reach the level Cleared Theta Clear, described by Hubbard as: "A thetan who is completely rehabilitated and can do everything a thetan should do, such as move MEST and control others from a distance, or create his own universe". MEST is an acronym Hubbard coined which stands for matter, energy, space and time, the component parts of the physical universe. In other words, Tom Cruise, who has stated publicly he is a thetan, has magical powers that we ordinary citizens do not possess. While I think it is admirable that Hollywood fruitcakes such as Tom Cruise have the wherewithal to save the world if they so desire, I wish they would do it a little more silently. |
