The Democrat base becomes more liberal every year. The 'new' Democrat espouses a decidedly anti-American form of 'patriotism' which embodies eschewing long-held traditions such as singing the National Anthem or participating in the Pledge of Allegiance. Modern Democrats also apparently believe that the message transcends the method they use to spread the word, meaning they will lie to you in order to further their agenda. A good example of this is their constant mantra that drilling for oil in Alaska wouldn't have any effect on the price of fuel for 7 years, and then would only make a 10 cent difference. Anybody who has an elementary school education and a calculator can do the math and see for themselves that Democrats, for whatever reason, are simply misstating the truth when it comes to drilling our own oil. Modern Democrats espouse such 'progressive' plans such as using up our strategic oil reserves to help lower the cost of fuel. While this might have a temporary and near-negligible effect on the price of gasoline, it would leave our great nation with absolutely no oil reserves in the event of a national emergency. What would we do then? The Middle East would then have us in an unescapable stranglehold. At least, with our strategic oil reserves intact, we have some breathing room in the all-important energy area. Too bad that we can't run the country on hot air, then the Democrats might actually be able to provide a service that benefits our great country. Another great Democrat plan is to get rid of our nuclear arsenal and stop developing defensive missile systems. They also propose that we suspend development of our Future Combat Systems. Why anyone would suggest that we emasculate our military is beyond comprehension. Bill Clinton, a Democrat who has openly and unashamedly lied to the entire country on national televison, neutered our armed services during his term of office. The Democrats don't know and don't care about the security of our country. Another thing I find troublesome about Democrats is their ability to accuse people of a heinous act, such as racism, while they themselves practice the same act they are accusing others of committing. A good example would be calling me a racist hillbilly redneck cracker for saying that I don't like Obama and won't vote for him. In the first place I can decide who I vote for. There is no racial clause that says I have to vote for any black candidate. Hillbilly, redneck and cracker are all derogatory terms for a white person. The hateful and racist Obama supporters spew racial invectives left and right because it is apparently acceptable to be racist if you are an Obama supporter. On that note, I have noticed that Barack Obama, a popular modern Democrat, attracts some of the most hateful insulting and racist supporters in the history of politics. I am not even going to mention that they seem to be mindless drones using quotes like "Obama will deliver us into a new era" or "Obama is a shining light which will unite this nation in glory". Those are both real quotes I have received from two different Obama supporters, both of which called me some form of racist, then implied I was uneducated, untoothed and less than human for being born in the South. Those are typical of the Barack Obama supporters I have had the displeasure to communicate with on any basis, be it online or in person. They are typically hateful, insulting, abusive and racist against anyone not marching in the Obama parade. There used to be a time in this country when people had the right to choose who they vote for as this nation's President. Apparently the traditions of freedom of speech and freedom of choice will no longer be tolerated by the Democrats. Another good example of a modern Democrat would be Michael Moore, who, besides being a complete idiot, routinely and very publicly denigrates our nation to the world. Michael Moore would only be too happy if absolutely every person on this planet hated America and all it stands for. Michael Moore sucks on may different levels, he's a typical modern Democrat, a liberal Hollywood personality, but mostly Michael Moore is a liar who makes a living out of bashing the United States of America.
