D Andre Lewis-Yhap is a claims adjuster for Unitrin County Mutual Insurance Company, also known as Unitrin Specialty, which is in turn part of Unitrin, Inc., a Chicago, IL corporation headed by Donald G. Southwell. A friend of mine, a single mother of two disabled children, had the misfortune of being hit by a person covered by Unitrin Insurance. Or perhaps she had the misfortune of having D Andre Lewis-Yhap assigned as her claims adjuster, I am not sure which claim is more appropriate.

I do know that D Andre Lewis-Yhap treated my friend poorly, whether it was because she doesn't like hispanics, single mothers or handicapped children. Maybe D Andre Lewis-Yhap treats every claimant of Unitrin insurance poorly. In the case of my friend, I certainly don't think that poverty is any reason to be treated like they are less of a person or otherwise deserving of anyone's disdain. I would consider such intentional treatment by an insurance claims adjuster to be in bad faith, and any insurance company that allows an adjuster to operate in bad faith on their behalf isn't worth doing business with in the first place.

I told my friend that she could "borrow" my attorney for advice as well as use my office for communicating with Unitren, we record all calls coming and going. I talked to my friend yesterday and she seemed upset, so I listened to the recording and then I got upset. Unlike my friend, I have a number of resources at my disposal and am not the type to sit idly by while my friends are insulted.

If Unitrin Insurance bases their business model on shafting single mothers who are responsible for raising handicapped children then I truly feel sorry for them. I sincerely hope that Kharma is a viable concept and that D Andre Lewis-Yhap and Unitrin County Mutual Insurance Company get them a dose of what they dish out.
